The older the car, the more its history matters.

This 1971 LeMans T-37 may turn heads with its red paint, but the real story is under the hood. With a vehicle this age, keeping it dependable means paying attention to more than appearances. Components wear, fluids age, and systems that have been working for decades deserve a closer look.

So, how often should a classic car be inspected? There is no universal schedule. Mileage, storage, how often it is driven, and the vehicle's condition all matter. Regular inspections can help identify leaks, worn components, cooling system concerns, and other issues before they take the fun out of owning a classic.

Because preserving a classic is not just about keeping it looking good. It is about keeping it running.

Like this post if you appreciate classic cars that still have miles left in them.

Justin thought he knew where the coolant leak was going. The car had other plans.

A leak can seem simple when you first spot it. You see fluid in one area, make an educated guess, and assume you have found the problem. But vehicles do not always make diagnosis that easy.

Sometimes the real source is hiding somewhere you would never expect, and finding it takes more than simply looking at the obvious spot.

Justin's latest diagnosis is a great example of why technicians test, investigate, and sometimes have to let the vehicle reveal the answer.

Curious where the coolant was actually coming from? Hit play, then DM us if your vehicle has a leak you cannot track down.

Some career paths are chosen. Others are passed down without anyone realizing it.

Growing up with a mom who worked as a heavy-duty diesel mechanic, Hannah was introduced to the automotive world long before she chose it as a career. That early curiosity eventually led her to study automotive technology, giving her the technical foundation she now brings to every customer interaction.

Whether she's answering questions, helping explain a repair, or guiding someone through the service process, her goal is to make every conversation informative and approachable.

And thanks to her diesel background, she has a genuine appreciation for the engineering behind those vehicles too.

If you're looking for a trusted shop to help care for your heavy-duty diesel vehicle around Lakewood, our team is here to help.

Sometimes the fun questions end up revealing the biggest truths.

Whether it's showing up early, planning ahead, or taking the extra step to be prepared, those habits don't just make life easier.

They build trust.

At Tveten's Auto Clinic, we believe the same approach applies to caring for your vehicle. Careful inspections, honest recommendations, and quality workmanship all start with taking the time to do things the right way instead of the fast way.

Which would you choose: always be 30 minutes early or always be 10 minutes late? Drop your answer in the comments and tell us why.

The hardest part about owning a car isn't hearing a strange noise. It's not knowing whether you should worry about it.

Steve spends a lot of time helping drivers understand the difference between normal vehicle behavior and signs that deserve a closer look.

If your car makes a clicking or snapping noise under the hood after you turn it off, some sounds are simply the result of hot metal cooling and contracting. Others, especially fast or repetitive clicking, may indicate an electronic component like an actuator or relay struggling to shut down properly.

That's why every unusual symptom deserves context before conclusions. A thorough diagnosis gives you answers you can trust instead of leaving you guessing.

Comment if you've ever noticed this after shutting off your car.

The strongest foundation for great service isn't technical knowledge. It's having the right reason for doing the work.

Ray's journey into the automotive industry began with a simple belief that people deserve honesty when it comes to their vehicles. That belief fueled years of learning, refining his craft, and never settling for easy answers.

Every challenge became another opportunity to grow, and every lesson made him a better advocate for the customers who trusted him with their vehicles.

It's a mindset that reflects what Tveten's Auto Clinic has stood for since 1949: honest service, experienced technicians, and a genuine commitment to doing what's right.

Nothing makes a summer drive feel longer than an A/C that can't decide whether it wants to work.

That uncertainty is exactly why Justin is taking a closer look at an air conditioning concern. When your A/C blows cold air, then suddenly turns warm while you're driving, several different issues could be responsible.

The key is resisting the urge to guess and taking the time to diagnose the system correctly.

Every vehicle tells a story, and our job is to understand what it's trying to say before recommending a repair. Helping customers understand the "why" behind the problem is part of delivering service you can feel confident about.

Comment if you've ever dealt with an A/C that worked only when it felt like it.
