Today was one of the most rewarding days of my career. A couple weeks ago, my brother Jon Spohn (who I own HomeTown Auto with) heard the tragic news of the car accident that took the life of Brantley McCarty. The McCarty family have been customers of ours for a very long time and have always supported us, so Jon knew we had to step up and support them. We set up a fundraiser at our shop to donate all of the money we take in from our work, above our cost of the parts for a single day. We reached out to everyone in Lakeville to jam our schedule with more work than we thought we could complete and we took on the challenge. Today was the day of our fundraiser and I can’t explain how proud I am of the team of employees (more like family) that we have in our business. We pulled off one of the biggest days in our company’s history. I’m proud of how hard they worked and the way they did every single thing they could to make a difference in the lives of the McCartys. I’m proud of the people in Lakeville for how much support they showed and the amount of work we were asked to complete on their vehicles, knowing that they were making a great difference. We worked as hard as we could and we were able to raise $10,370! Thank you to every person that was involved in our day. You all made a huge difference! We can’t change what happened to Brantley, but we can take a little stress off the shoulders of his family, and that’s exactly what everyone helped us do. I don’t know how to say thank you enough.
