**Fast Eddie's 5th Annual Car Show: A Heartfelt Thank You**
As we gear up for Fast Eddie's 5th Annual Car Show, I want to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude to everyone who has contributed to the success of this event over the years. Your hard work and generosity have not only made this car show possible but have also enriched our community spirit, making each year truly memorable.
First and foremost, I want to extend a special thank you to the incredible ladies of the Nisswa American Legion Auxiliary. Your dedication in providing delicious food and ensuring that the serving tent runs smoothly is nothing short of amazing. The warmth and support you bring to this event resonates with every guest, and we are deeply grateful for your unwavering commitment.
For those who may not know, the idea for this car show was born during a particularly challenging time for our family. My father, Ed Duus, was in hospice care, and we were navigating the emotional complexities of his illness. One day, during discussions about funeral arrangements, I jokingly mentioned when he asked what we were going to do for his service, "Well, we’re going to have a car show, of course!" his eyes lit up and that was it, a car show memorial was all that he wanted. All he wanted was his family and friends to enjoy their day and not be sad, he wanted happiness and great stories to fill the day!
This car show has become an annual tradition, and it fills my heart with immense happiness to see so many familiar faces and new friends joining us every year. Thank you for your continued support, encouragement, and participation.
As we look forward to this year's event, I encourage everyone to engage in conversations, share your stories, and make memories that will last a lifetime.
As part of our commitment to health and well-being, please don’t forget to schedule those preventative cancer tests. If your doctor dismisses their importance, it might be time to seek a second opinion. If PSA tests had been emphasized during my father's health journey, perhaps he would still be with us today. Let’s honor his legacy by advocating for our health and supporting one another.
Thank you once again for being such an integral part of Fast Eddie's Car Show family. We can’t wait to see all of you this year and hope you leave with hearts full of joy and stories to share. Together, let’s keep the spirit of this event alive, celebrating life, laughter, and love in memory of my father and all those who have touched our lives.
