As we head into the holiday weekend, we want to wish our customers, employees, friends, and community a safe and enjoyable Labor Day weekend!

HDM will be closed for the holiday weekend and will return to regular business hours on Tuesday. Limited towing services will be available to our customers during this time.

A quick reminder while you're on the road:
If you see emergency vehicles, tow trucks, or roadside crews stopped along the highway, MOVE OVER & SLOW DOWN.

Those flashing lights mean someone is working just feet away from moving traffic. Give them the space they need to do their job and make it home safely.

Enjoy the long weekend, drive smart, watch out for one another, and let’s make sure everyone gets home safe.

Slow Down. Move Over.

Every time an HDM truck is parked on the shoulder with its lights flashing, one of our team members is standing just a few feet from traffic.

They're not just a tow operator.
They're not just a technician.

They're someone we care about.
They're part of our HDM family.
They're someone's spouse, parent, son, daughter, sibling, or friend. And at the end of every shift, there's a family waiting for them to come home.

When you see flashing lights on the side of the road, please don't see it as just another delay. See the person working beside that white line.

A simple decision to slow down and move over gives our crew the space they need to help someone else safely. Every roadside call is about helping a driver who's having one of the worst days of their week. But we can't help them if we aren't protected ourselves.

School Bus Safety Starts Long Before the First Bell Rings

At HDM Towing & Truck Center, school bus safety is more than just another service. It's a responsibility we take seriously. For more than 20 years, we've had the privilege of helping maintain the Lake Mills Public Schools bus fleet, working behind the scenes to ensure the buses that transport our community's children are safe, reliable, and ready for every school day.

As the new school year begins earlier than usual, it's a great time for all of us to refresh our school bus safety awareness.

🚸 Remember these important safety tips:
🛑 Stop whenever a school bus has its red lights flashing and stop arm extended.
👀 Watch for children crossing the street. They can be unpredictable, especially during the excitement of the first weeks of school.
🚍 Give school buses plenty of space. They make frequent stops and need extra room to maneuver safely.
📵 Put distractions away. A text or quick glance at your phone can have life-changing consequences.

Every child deserves to arrive at school safely and return home to their family at the end of the day. Harvest Season Is Almost Here.... because we are already getting farm trucks & trailers scheduled into our shop before harvest starts.

Across Wisconsin, you'll soon see more tractors, combines, grain trucks, and farm equipment sharing our roads. Harvest is one of the busiest times of the year for our agricultural communities, and a little extra patience can go a long way.

Here are a few reminders to help everyone get home safely:

🌽 Slow down when approaching farm equipment. They travel much slower than highway traffic.
🚜 Only pass when it's legal, safe, and you have a clear view ahead.
🚦 Give equipment plenty of space. Large machinery often needs extra room to turn into fields or driveways.
🚛 Truck drivers: Stay alert on rural routes where equipment may be entering or crossing the roadway.
