After six months of qualifying and regional competitions, the top seven Battery Service Technicians from The Canadian Automobile Association (CAA) Clubs across the country gathered in Winnipeg yesterday for Club Assist's National Battery Heroes Competition.

With the top three competitors tied, it all came down to the fastest time. Yves Guilbert of CAA Quebec claimed first place, followed by Kevin Kassela of CAA North & East Ontario in second, and Russel Kahn of CAA Manitoba in third.

Congratulations to all the competitors representing AMA - Alberta Motor Association, CAA Atlantic, BCAA, CAA Manitoba, CAA North & East Ontario, CAA South Central Ontario, and CAA-Québec!

Congratulations to Ed Scott of AAA Club Alliance on being crowned the 2026 Battery Service Skills Challenge® National Champion in San Antonio, Texas! Ed not only earned the Top Technician Award in the Large Club category, but also claimed the competition's highest honor, the title of 2026 BSSC Champion, with the highest score and fastest time! He walked away with an incredible $15,000 in prize money, earning $7,500 for each title!

When his name was announced, Ed dropped to his knees, overcome with emotion. It was an unforgettable moment that captured just how much this achievement meant to him. What a moment! What a champion! 🏆⚡

With nearly 1,500 AAA Battery Service Technicians entering the competition, Ed earned his place among the top 14 finalists, representing the top 1% of competitors across the AAA network. After months of preparation and competition against the best of the best, he rose to the very top! We couldn't be happier for Ed and couldn't be prouder to celebrate this incredible AAA Battery Service Technician!

Congratulations to Samson Tate of AAA Hoosier on winning the Top Technician Award in the Mid-Size Club category at the 2026 Battery Service Skills Challenge®National Championship in San Antonio, Texas, taking home a $7,500 cash prize!

Samson was among 14 finalists who advanced to the National Championship from nearly 1,500 AAA Battery Service Technicians who entered the competition. Representing the top 1% of competitors, these elite technicians showcased their technical knowledge, skills, and expertise in AAA Battery Service.

Congratulations Samson on this outstanding achievement! 🏆⚡

A big congratulations to Kenneth Arnold of AAA Central Penn on winning the Top Technician Award in the Small Club category at the 2026 Battery Service Skills Challenge® National Championship in San Antonio, Texas, and taking home a $7,500 cash prize!

With nearly 1,500 AAA Battery Service Technicians entering the competition, Kenneth earned his place among the top 14 finalists, representing the top 1% of competitors across the AAA network. After months of preparation and competition, he proved he has what it takes to be a national champion!

The Top 14 AAA Battery Service Technicians have made it to San Antonio, and today, one of them will be crowned the 2026 Battery Service Skills Challenge®National Champion later today! The stage is set, and the finalists are ready.

This morning, the finalists gathered for breakfast and their official pre-competition briefing with Club Assist Senior Manager of Technical Training Tim Onstad. After months of preparation and competition, they’re ready to put their skills to the ultimate test.

Who is the best AAA Battery Technician in the country?

Six months ago, more than 1,500 AAA Battery Service Technicians representing AAA Clubs nationwide registered to compete in the 2026 Battery Service Skills Challenge.

Through qualifying and regional competitions, the field has been narrowed to the Top 14, who will compete in San Antonio next week for the chance to be crowned the 2026 BSSC Champion!

Regional competitions are now underway as AAA Clubs across the country narrow a field of nearly 1,500 Battery Service Technicians to the final 15 competitors.
