Current Lake Levels Down due to Summer Heat and a Lack of Rain: Lake Lure is currently down to (989.5), one foot below full pond, due to a lack of rain combined with the heat of summer. Although we have had several brief showers recently, we have not received a significant enough amount of rain to sustain our normal lake level of 990.5. The increased temperatures are also causing evaporation which impacts lake levels. We hope rain and lower temperatures will arrive soon to help remedy this situation.
