Gotta vent here a minute. Normally don’t indulge in this kind of post but it has gotten to that point.
We pride ourselves in business by doing what we say we are going to do. We do whatever we can for customer satisfaction. Of course we are not 100%… sometimes our own doing and sometimes beyond our control. I have found that when things do come up which causes delays or changes in price that communication with the customer is always the best approach. Again… sometimes it is beyond our control, other times it is on our end. But Communication is the key.
That being said… I expect the same of my suppliers. I don’t know what is happening over at CBR Performance… but what I just experienced was just unacceptable. CBR Performance has always been a pretty reliable company with good products and good customer service. While their products may still be good… their customer service is HORRIBLE.
I placed an order back in May for 2 radiators.
5/18- I emailed the specs and spoke to Clint directly.
6/18- I received a price quote with a 1-2weeks lead time.
6/30- Email follow up and told “shooting for next week”
7/16- Email follow up and told again “should go in line next week”
8/3- Email follow up and told “later this week. I will send you tracking later today”
8/12- Email follow up and told “should go in line in the next week or 2”
8/24- Emailed and had to cancel one of the radiators because my customer got tired of waiting (lost sale). I added another CBR non custom radiator in place of the cancelled one.
9/14- Emailed for follow-up and told again “in line for next week”
9/24- Email follow up and told “will ship next week”. I subsequently told Georgeanna that I would be in town and would either pick up the radiators or have them picked up.
10/1- I received an invoice for payment which did not reflect my re-sellers permit and had sales tax and also a 2.75% credit card fee. I sent a copy of my updated reseller’s form in an email and also told her that I intended to pay cash.
I ended up sending my brother (who lives local to CBR) over to
CBR Performance to pick up and pay the invoice. He was told that because I had not given them a credit card payment that the custom radiator (that I had been promised for 4months) had not been started and it would be Monday. I instructed my brother to cancel the entire order. He was told “that’s fine”. No sh*ts given apparently.
Again… I am not one to typically out companies like this… but this was totally unacceptable. Especially for a vendor who sells your product and has been a dealer for several years.
