Sorry Ford gang but this is ridiculous! Ford decided to put the water pump on their 3.5 liter engines inside the motor! The crank actually runs the pump! This one came out of a 2017 Ford Explorer. Needless to say, you’d better know your stuff. Definitely wouldn’t be taking this project to a tire store! 😌

Need a new water pump? Hope you don’t drive a 2017 Ford Explorer with a 3.5 V6. The water pump is crank driven and located in the engine! Not a job for the newbies! Ford- why? 🥺

Unfortunately our road(Industrial Blvd.) is scheduled to be completely blocked off between the highway and Kiowa Blvd. This will shut down our business on Wednesday, June 3rd. due to not being able to access our shop. This Ford Boss 429 was one of the most legendary high-performance V8 engines ever produced during the golden age of American muscle cars. Developed in the late 1960s specifically to homologate Ford’s NASCAR racing program, the Boss 429 combined massive displacement with advanced racing-inspired engineering to compete against Chrysler’s dominant Hemi engines on the superspeedways. Built around a reinforced big-block architecture, the engine featured enormous semi-hemispherical cylinder heads, oversized valves, and high-flow intake ports designed to deliver exceptional high-RPM horsepower and race-level durability.

Although created primarily for NASCAR competition, the Boss 429 also found its way into a limited number of specially modified Ford Mustangs produced for street use in 1969 and 1970. These rare vehicles became some of the most desirable muscle cars ever built, combining aggressive styling with one of Ford’s most exotic factory engines. The Boss 429’s massive aluminum valve covers, wide cylinder heads, and intimidating physical size gave it an unmistakable appearance that immediately separated it from ordinary production V8s.

Known for its incredible performance potential, rarity, and direct connection to Ford’s motorsport history, the Boss 429 remains one of the most respected and collectible American engines ever created. It stands as a symbol of the intense horsepower wars of the late 1960s and Ford’s determination to dominate professional stock car racing through advanced engineering and raw V8 power.
