The time is now to get ready for the 2026-20276 riding season...😎
Now is the perfect time to get YOUR Ride ready for the season. Having YOUR Ride serviced and inspected is a great way to start the season on good ground.
Here is a list of common issues we see at the beginning of each season:
* Vehicles that have not been driven or started during the summer months have high rates of fuel pump and fuel injector issues. We recommend storing with non-ethonal fuel and/or a good fuel stabilizer. Before starting up and riding for the season, it would be a great idea if there was no fuel stabilizer previously added to put a product like Seafoam or another quality fuel treatment in the fuel tank. Either way, before just starting the engine, cycle the key several times to engage the fuel pump. You should hear the fuel pump "buzz" when you cycle the key on and off. Finally, start the engine and let the system get up to operating temperature(in a well vented area). Hopefully this will prolong the life of your fuel pump and fuel injectors.
* CV Boots can have minor pin holes or cracks. During the season it is easy to inadvertently drive over some debris, get rocks thrown back at the axles or just crack from age. Fully inspect all four axles inner and outer cv rubber boot ends. Any signs of grease in the ribs of the cv boot are indicators of an issue. Most boots can be replaced and the cv joint cleaned and re-greased. Sometimes it is better to replace the complete axle due to age and wear.
* Tires, we all know tires have become much more expensive, so lets make sure the air pressures are all set properly for your vehicle. As a general base line we recommend 15 psi. However, this has shown the need to be increased to 20-24 psi for the bigger and heavier vehicle models, especially with larger size tires. Some lighter cars with beadlock wheels can benefit from lower than the recommended 15 psi. Knowing your vehicle, driving style and driving terrain is key to determining the optimal tire pressure for Your Ride. We can help you.
* Batteries do not like being left alone and not used. We recommend a quality battery tender with a float charge for extended storage. Before the season starts, check your battery connections to ensure they are clean and tight. Batteries do age out and an average life span with good maintenance should be 3-5 years.
* Clutches and Belts; Clutches need to be clean. Blowing them out with compressed air in all the tiny places is critical for the clutch to function properly. Looking for signs of wear, sticking weights, flat spotted rollers, and insure the inside clutch face sheaves are clean and smooth. Inspect the belt for signs of shinny hot spots on the sides, cracking or peeling. Remember the clutches squeeze in and grip the sides of the belts. The cogs or ribs on the belt are there for the belt to easily spin and to help with cooling.
