If “Showdown at Sundown” rings a bell, this Saturday might bring back a few memories.

Now it’s the Lake Charles Toyota Gulf Coast Marching Band Championship, and another group of high school musicians and color guard members is getting ready for its turn on the field at McNeese.

Join us this Saturday, October 24, for performances beginning at 1:30 p.m., followed by The Pride of McNeese Cowboy Marching Band’s exhibition at 6:30 p.m.

We’re returning for our sixth year of sponsorship with the Pride of McNeese and the marching festival, and as always, Corey Tarver will be on hand to personally present the awards.

Admission is $10, or $5 for children 12 and under.

The first horsepower behind the Lake Charles Fire Department came with hooves. When LCFD began in 1876, firefighters responded to emergencies with horse-drawn fire wagons.

This week, the department celebrates 150 years, and Lake Charles Toyota is helping sponsor the celebration!

There are two free ways to join in:

THURSDAY, OCT. 22 | 5:30–7:30 p.m.
Historical Art Exhibit at Central School
Explore the department’s history and traditions through historical artwork and displays.

SATURDAY, OCT. 24 | 3–6 p.m.
LCFD Family Fun Day at Millennium Park
Enjoy music by The Good Dudes and Barbe High School’s The Last Hour Show Choir, fire department displays, food trucks and vendors, children’s activities, and car seat checks.

Both events are FREE and open to the public.

A century and a half of Lake Charles history deserves a celebration. Bring the family and help wish LCFD a happy 150th!

If you were at Chuck Fest Saturday, you heard it first: Dani LaCour Music and Justin Martindale are officially Lake Charles Toyota brand ambassadors!

Corey Tarver joined the two artists to share the news with the crowd, and now we get to share it with you.

The 2026 Sugar Bowl LHSAA Boys & Girls State Swim Meet is coming to SPAR, and Lake Charles Toyota is proud to support the high school athletes competing for a state title.

Our Jeremy Nunnally recently caught up with Sulphur High School swimmer Whitt Miller as we celebrated the hard work and dedication it takes to compete at this level.
