It is with great sadness that I announce that my brother Greg Vice has passed away. It is however my great conviction that he has gone to be with beloved wife Linda. Arrangements will follow when they are known.

It’s been just over a year since we closed the dealership. It was a bittersweet thing to do, but after 60 years it was time. People asked how we are all doing and I say well. Greg is retired and doing very well! Heather and Luke continue to work in different fields now. Kenny has moved and works at another Ford store. Brad, Justin and Wes all have landed in good jobs. As for myself (Bob) I retired happily! My biggest regret is that we all found out that the world doesn’t quite have another store like we had. We had the best customers, most of you became very close friends, and the greatest staff that had full intentions of satisfying you. Success in some peoples eyes at the end of the day is a cash draw running over. As for the Vice family, we looked at it differently, success was it a long-term relationship with our customers. We miss you guys as much as you miss us. God bless you all.

It just doesn’t look the same, all signage is gone and a pending sale of the building will remove the last vestiges of our family’s enterprise in our town. I have always been proud of Ladoga and the heritage this community has. Countless men and women came from here and went on to do great things. Being a canner meant you knew your roots and you always rooted for the underdog. We bid a bittersweet farewell to you all with fond memories and the best of well wishes to you all.
