The blueprinting of a bottom end for a Cat 3406C build. When we overhaul an engine, ā€œgood enoughā€ doesn’t leave the shop—every single rotating and reciprocating component gets treated to strict quality control and meticulous prep:

Thermal Barrier Protection: Every piston dome is thoroughly prepped, masked, and sprayed with a specialized ceramic thermal coating to manage combustion heat, optimize thermal efficiency, and protect the crown under heavy load.
Tolerances & Inspection: Every wrist pin, piston, and connecting rod is cleaned, inspected, and mic’d to verify exact factory and performance tolerances.
Matched & Balanced: Weight is matched across the entire rotating assembly. Each piston, pin, and rod is weighed on a precision scale and milled/relieved as necessary so the assembly stays perfectly balanced, reducing harmonics and extending bearing life.
Clearance Verification: Once assembled in the block, piston-to-bore clearance, ring gaps, and deck height/protrusion are dialed in and verified with dial indicators and feeler gauges to ensure maximum engine performance and lifespan.

No cut corners. Just built right the first time .

šŸ“¢ IMPORTANT PSA / SHOP UPDATE:
A quick reminder to our followers: we are currently closed to the public for the remainder of the year. Our shop schedule is fully booked, and we are strictly servicing current/scheduled clients. We will not be accepting new customers until possibly the beginning of next year.
Thank you all for the incredible support!

Heads up from the shop — please read! āš ļø

If you got a weird email from us today asking you to open an "Invite PDF" or review an "Adobe Document," DO NOT OPEN IT AND DO NOT CLICK THE LINK! Delete it immediately.
Here’s the straight truth on what happened: Months back, an old laptop we use for tuning and diagnostic software got hit with malware. We took it completely off the grid and pulled it off the internet to keep it isolated. Well, we hooked it up to the internet today to check on some files, figured enough time had passed… and turns out a sleeper cell script was sitting in there just waiting for a Wi-Fi connection.
The moment it went online, it blasted out a dumb spam-phishing email to everyone in the old address book. And to make it even wilder—the login log traced back to Iran. Apparently international hackers are really invested in independent diesel and auto repair shops now!
What you need to know:
Our email account and systems are fully locked down, passwords changed, and 2-step verification is active.
The laptop in question has had its battery yanked and is getting completely wiped down to bare metal.
Your information is NOT in danger, but if you actually clicked that email link and entered your email password into whatever fake page popped up, please go change your email password right away just to be safe.
We take customer security seriously, and we deeply apologize for any annoyance or confusion this caused in your inbox today. If you ever get an email from us that feels off, shoot us a text or call the shop directly.
After we done some digging found out it was possibly Iran??? Crazy huh?

Thanks for having our backs and bearing with us!

Big Updates Ahead for Cora’s Performance
It's been a long time since we posted but there's been a lot going on.

First off, an massive thank you to everyone who trusts us with their builds, fleets, and daily drivers. Because of our incredible community, we are currently experiencing historic demand. Between heavy long-term builds, custom engine overhauls, and our committed fleet accounts, our shop floor and build queue are officially packed wall-to-wall.
At Cora’s Performance, our standard is precision. We refuse to compromise on build quality, rush turnarounds, or drop our standards just to cycle higher volume through the bays.

ā—ā—Because of that commitment, we are officially capping our schedule and closing the shop to all new incoming clients for the remainder of 2026.ā—ā—
Here is what that looks like moving into the final quarter:

Existing & Commercial Accounts: You are our backbone, and we’re taking care of you. If you are an established client or commercial account holder, our doors remain open for your ongoing maintenance, service, and current commitments. For any scheduling questions, shoot a text directly to the shop line and a representative will get back to you soon as possible.

Custom Builds & Engine Overhauls: All new engine builds, custom work, and extensive overhauls are booked solid and will not be scheduled until our 2027 calendar opens.

New Clients: While our books are closed to first-time projects for the rest of the year, we genuinely appreciate your interest and look forward to getting you on the schedule once the new year rolls around.

What We’re Building Behind the Scenes:
Taking this pause on new intake allows us to not only execute every build on our floor to perfection, but also to build the next chapter of Cora’s Performance. We are spending the rest of the year optimizing our shop workflow, upgrading operations, and laying the groundwork to expand our technical roster heading into next year as well as a second shop and department being open! When we kick open the books for 2027, the shop will be faster, stronger, and running at a whole new level.
To all our loyal clients: thank you for keeping our bays firing on all cylinders. We're head-down, tools up, and focused on delivering top-tier work for the tasks at hand.
Stay tuned for project updates from the floor—some wild builds are rolling out soon.

Let’s be honest—our social media gets completely ignored because we’re flat-out busy and don’t use this as an advertisement. This is strictly a portfolio of the grind.
Just in the last few weeks, we’ve handled everything from heavy loaders and tractor clutch replacements to complex electrical/engine harness repairs, custom powder coating, ceramic-coated pistons for an engine overhaul, and all the basic maintenance in between. As you can see in the video, we cover a massive spectrum of repairs, and that’s exactly why the shop stays packed.
āš ļø IMPORTANT SHOP UPDATES & TRUCKING LOGISTICS āš ļø
BOOKING UPDATE: We are officially CLOSED for the next 30 days to new work. We are at absolute peak capacity and have to clear the floor. We’ve got some massive, incredibly cool custom diesel and car projects coming down the pipeline (hence that last snippet in the video!), and we need to get current jobs out the door first. We are now booking for August and beyond.
OFFICE CLOSURE (TODAY - MONDAY): The office is closed starting today (Wednesday) through Monday for a much-needed summer vacation.
ONLY ONE TECH ON DUTY: We will have exactly one tech holding down the fort while the main mechanic is out. They need to be 100% dedicated to the floor, NOT answering the phone.
šŸ“ž HOW TO REACH US: If you need anything, DO NOT CALL. USE THE TEXT LINE ONLY. Please be patient with responses—we will get back to everyone when we are fully operational on Monday.
A massive thank you to everyone for the insane level of support that allows us to work on everything from motorcycles to heavy loaders and full engine overhauls. We have some custom car builds and wild diesel projects coming up that we cannot wait to show you.
We’re extremely grateful, incredibly busy, and hoping to add another tech to the crew in the near future. Until then, bear with us and thank you for keeping the shop moving!

So... we don't usually do road calls. But exceptions are made when a loyal customer decides to try a vertical oil change.
In all seriousness, they harvested a big crop of "oopsie daisies" today. It took a little extra effort to get this rig back on the ground, but we’re glad to report that everything ended well and nobody was hurt.
Just another day helping our community out of a tight spot!

This isn’t just another project rolling through the bays. This 1967 Mercury Monterey S55 has a hell of a story behind it, and it hits right here at home.
The owner is a local soldier from right here in our community. He started out as a customer, but over the course of this project, he became way more than that—he became a true friend and another brother to the shop. Every time he deploys, the car comes to us so we can grind on it and make sure it’s completely dialed in and ready for him the second his boots hit the ground back home.
He’s currently out on a two-year deployment, and he’s been asking for a Cora's Performance shirt forever. If a local brother is out there serving for two years, the least I could do was build him a custom shirt to match his ride.
Under the hood, we rebuilt this 428 FE engine into a 500 HP muscle car powerhouse, along with a fresh transmission and a ton of other work to make it solid. (I’ll drop a full breakdown on the actual vehicle build details in a later post!)
šŸŽØ 100% LOCAL & 100% REAL ART:
We wanted this to be special, so we kept everything right here in the community. The artwork was custom-designed by a local tattoo artist from a shop right here in our area. We believe in real art, real grit, and absolutely NO AI art bu****it. To top it off, the shirts are being printed by a local shop down the road. Local soldier, local artist, local printer.

🚨 PRE-ORDERS OPEN TONIGHT! 🚨
We want to make sure our community gets the exact sizes they need before we place the order in a few weeks.

Keeping up with social media is a job in itself, and honestly, it’s hard to be on a phone when your hands are usually covered in grease and have all the base fool with no chance to catch a break.
We know we’ve been quiet lately, but as you can see, the lot stays full for a reason.
Whether it’s dialing in a classic, tuning a sports car, trailer repair, or deep-diving into a semi, we text specialized in different aspects to keep the bays moving. From the vintage chrome in the front to the heavy-duty rigs in the back, if it has an engine or wheels, we’re probably working on it.

BIG ANNOUNCEMENT:
Keep your eyes peeled next week. We’re officially dropping a new custom shirt featuring a one-of-a-kind build we’ve been pouring our time into for a customer!

At Cora’s Performance, we don’t just "rebuild" engines—we blueprint them.

For us, an engine isn't just a list of parts; it’s a work of art. Whether we’re diving into a heavy-duty semi-truck engine or a high-revving V8 muscle car, our process remains the same: total precision. We measure absolutely everything. We start with strict manufacturer specs as our baseline, but we don’t stop there.
We integrate years of documented aftermarket research to apply clearances and procedures that have been proven to outperform the factory standards. If there’s a better way to make it live longer or run smoother, that’s exactly how we build it.
Every bolt turned, every gap measured, and every clearance checked is documented. We don’t "throw things together" to get them out the door. We build them to stay on the road, which is why we stand behind our work with a 2-year, unlimited mile warranty.
Passion meets precision.
When it comes to rebuilding an engine to live another long life there's no room for half ass work!

This 2009 ISX Cummins came into Cora’s Performance with the classic ISX nightmare: blown camshaft bushings and a cracked head. We didn't just put it back together—we engineered the weak points out of it.

The Build Specs:
Stage 3 Head: Upgraded high-nickel casting for superior heat resistance and increased coolant 30% more flow.
Valvetrain: Brand new camshafts, fresh rocker rollers, and stronger valve upgrades.
The Secret Sauce: We anchored it all down with new cryo-treated head bolts for maximum tensile strength and zero-stretch reliability.
Precision: Liner protrusion verified and fresh fluids throughout.
And of course every time we work on an engine we make sure the wire loom and wires are all repaired, attached with proper fasteners and clean looking.

The Cora’s Standard:
Even on a "head replacement" we don't just deliver a running engine—we deliver a masterpiece. We finished this build with custom chrome powder-coated piping and our signature high-flake red paint as well as ceramic coated turbo exhaust and exhaust manifold all done in house.

We take pride in every bolt we turn. When you spend your hard-earned money at our shop, we make sure your rig looks better, runs harder, and lasts longer than the day it left the factory.
Every engine that leaves the shop is a rolling advertisement and we want to make sure every time someone sees an engine they can tell that who worked on.
