Big week at TFR! The entire drag strip has been resurfaced as of Friday! It looks so beautiful seeing fresh asphalt. They used laser guided machines to ensure the level of the track was as accurate as they could go! Return road just needs done and she’ll be wrapped up!
Notice all buildings except a couple have been demo’d - it makes the landscape and track look a lot better! here in about a other week we’ll have some prep laid down and start racing some cars! We will invite some of the local community out to take a look at the grounds when we’re able!

Demo day!! Next step in revamping the property is taking down a few of the “unfixable” buildings, including the control tower. We had structural engineers come in and give us an analysis and it wasn’t good. Highly recommended tear down and start over and advised against putting money into the building as it was dangerous as it sat.
I know it’s tough for some to see, but it is a good thing to not put anyone in unnecessary danger.

A few more pictures of the progress. Some points after the previous post
- We are working through making the pavement, timing equipment, 1/4 mile boards, and facilities world-class
- Are we going to open this to the public? We truly do not have a solid answer yet. Millions more need put into this place to get it where it should be. We would like to have a few events a year open to the local community. At this stage, we are focused on the renovations.
- We are not here to cause issues, however, many people simply are extremely negative and do not like the fact we bought this drag strip. A lot of people have also been very positive. We appreciate not assuming we are just out to stick it to the community.
- Every community we’ve been a part of we’ve helped raise money and work on projects to help everyone. We have also not been in a such a hostile local community to have to defend ourselves every turn just from purchasing something on the open market.
- Bottom line - we’re here to have fun and turn this track into something special. We WANT to do some events that are open but please just be patient as we work through everything.

Some amazing progress has been made so far! First 100 yards or so of the launch pad has been re-poured with fresh concrete, staging lanes have fresh asphalt, and we did some asphalt behind the staging pit so we can do some roll-racing.
The complete strip will be fresh asphalt as soon as middle of July! We’re excited to continue this renovation.

The restoration so far has cost $1.7 million. It needed a lot of love and still will require more!

Good evening everyone. We, The Triple F Collection, have purchased MCIR. We worked with the previous owners, Kevin and Katie, very closely for several months. They’re great people with a passion for drag racing. Unfortunately, they had to move on to a different opportunity. There just wasn’t enough coming in to justify what they were putting into it.

We are currently working on plans to upgrade the facilities, pavement, and timing equipment. At this time, it is not known if it will be open to the public or private. We have attorneys and insurance working through liabilities and potential issues.

We understand most of you will feel a certain way about it, having created many great memories. This dragstrip is essentially inoperable at this time. Continuing business as usual would mean putting lives at risk. A lot of work needs done to make it acceptable and it’s just not a good business investment to do so with the revenue.

This is a passion for us. We will document the demo and rebuild and updates on our YouTube channel along with giving updates here. We know there is disappointment but know that this dragstrip was headed towards abandonment and would’ve been an afterthought in a short time. We’re going to do some work and we hope you follow along as we do.

After a busy week, we have accepted an offer on the race track. Thank you all for the overwhelming response! I apologize to anyone I did not get back to, there were just too many inquiries to respond to every one. I will let the new owners announce themselves and their intentions whenever they're ready to. Thank you all for the support over the last few years, we wish you all the best.

Marion County Raceway is for sale! Contact us for information. Katie and I will be moving on to a new opportunity. It's been an interesting 3 years, but, someone else will take over and carry on for the next stage. We wish you all good luck, and good racing.

This week at MCR:

Saturday November 6th - mcr no prep series. Season sender! - Note the times in that link have been changed and FB won't let us update it. Gates will open at noon. Testing starts at 1 for Index classes. Driver's meeting at 2pm. Cruise leaves at 2:45. First round at 3pm. Spectators $15. Looks like mid 50s and sunny, should be a nice day!

Those of you signed up for Sunday's rental, expect the grass areas to be soft from 2 days of rain, please use the gravel pits instead.

This week at MCR:

Friday - Street Night/Test and Tune - Gate opens at 5pm weather permitting, TnT starts at 6. Racers $20, Spectators $10. We are aware of the forecast.

NEXT Saturday November 6th, we're running one final no prep race! mcr no prep series. Season sender! Hopefully the weather cooperates and everyone will come out and race with us one last time this season. Details are in the event link, if you're planning to attend be sure to RSVP to that event page so you get updates as soon as they're posted.
