2013 GM Chevy Equinox 2.4 Ecotec
Rear Main seal of this engine blew out at 104,000 miles due to an engineering defect at General Motors. GM will not take care of it even though they issued a bulletin stating the problem. We know of 5 vehicles locally that all popped the seal after the last cold snap. The design flaw at GM is due to the PCV Sytem collecting water and then freezing in a cold snap thereby not allowing the engine to breathe and building enough pressure to pop the rear main seal. If you have this problem, please flood GM and NHTSA. They should be responsible for their engineering flaws. The Dealership is charging $2200 after you pay them $150 to diagnose this problem.
