Happy to report, rumors of my demize have been greatly exagerated! Bobby Gillie, no doubt under the effects of swamp gas, offered me his hot rod for the rest of the season! So me and cousin Larry (AKA Larry Bosworth) dragged it up to 105 Speedway last night and went racing. We won our heat, started 6th in the feature, and finished 6th. The motor was great, and the car did everything great except hook up off the corners. No forward bite from the center of the corner out, just blew the tires off any time I touched the throttle. We didn't hurt the car, run over anyone or do anything really stupid, so I'm calling this a successful mission. Really enjoyed hanging out with all my racing friends, great to be back. 🤡

OK you guys, once again by the grace of God and Jesus Christ, I managed to ellude the icy claws of the Angel of Death! Yep, just when you thought it was safe to go back to the race track, I'm back! I wasn't worried for a minute, because I knew my prayer warriors would be there for me. The good Lord has blessed me with the finest friends and family ever, and my extended racing family is the greatest. No matter how many times they've had to endure my hard-headed, unreasonable rants and tirades, they still rally around me when I need them. Thank you to the bottom of my heart. From the time I could walk & talk, I ran around telling everyone that when I grew up I was gonna be a race car driver. I invested my whole life in racing, and you all made it worth it.

Captain's log, Star Date 04-29-2024: Just got a check up from Bones, aka John Coyle. He says I'll live, but I won't be able to play the piano. Joke's on him, I never could play the piano! Gonna try to get up & go to work in the morning, we'll see how that goes. Once again, a great big thank you to all the wonderful folks who cared about me. I'll be full strength obnoxious before long!

Coming to you live from the "McKinney Home For The Criminally Insane & Socially Unacceptable" here's your daily report on the Lonr Star Dave recovery watch. I've been resting, taking some over the counter pain/muscle relaxers, and things are much better than they were last night. Looks like I'll be able to go back to work tommorow. I thought it was going to take longer to hesl. The moment of impact, I really thought I had broken my back, but it must have just been a really bad sprain. Thanks for checking on me everyone. I'm lucky to be a racer, cause I have a huge family of racers who care about ne and support me. Thanks guys!

A huge heart felt than you to everyone worried about me. I very pleased to report, romours my demise have been greatly exargerated! The moment of impact, my vision went black with a thousand lightning bolts, and I actually thought I'd broken my back. Still have lateral pain across my back appx 2"-44" below my shoulder blades, feels like someone broke a 2"- 4" across my back.
