Spot the difference 👀

One of these injectors was installed wrong. A bad seal let combustion gases blow right past it, and that black carbon buildup is the result.

We pulled all four and put in a fresh set so this truck is back to running the way it should. Small install mistakes turn into big repair bills. Do it right the first time. 🔧

Emissions has been a hot topic lately, so this is a two part post.

This 2022 hot shot truck came in with reduced power, driven by an out of state driver trying to get home. Notice the ash accumulation code. Soot load was at 11, more than double what Dodge allows for an effective regen. With 330k miles, our best option was a regen to get him home safely.

Now the air filter pictures and the crankcase code. Both were well past the maintenance interval. A new air filter and crankcase filter had it breathing much better.

Grabbing a $5,000 to $6,000 DPF from the dealer and getting him back on the road the same day just wasn't an option. The regen got him rolling, but ash doesn't burn off, so we let him know that DPF is near the end of its life.

Maintenance matters. It protects your engine, your exhaust system and your whole powertrain.
