If you’ve ever had your vehicle in a body shop, you’ve probably heard a few terms that made perfect sense to the people working there and absolutely none to you. Here’s a quick guide to some you will hear most often.

**OEM Parts**
Parts made by your vehicle’s manufacturer and designed to match the original parts that came on the vehicle.

**Aftermarket Parts**
Replacement parts made by a company other than the vehicle manufacturer.

**LKQ Parts**
Used original parts sourced from another vehicle. LKQ stands for “like kind and quality.”

**Pre-Scan / Post-Scan**
Diagnostic scans done before and after repairs to check vehicle systems, stored trouble codes, and make sure everything is working properly.
