Big panel.

Small chance one person wants to carry it alone. 💪

Two members of our team have their hands on the same large panel here, controlling the weight as they move it above a covered stand.

There is even a shipping box down by their feet, another reminder that parts can do a lot of traveling before they end up back on a vehicle.

Collision repair is precise work.

It is also physical work.

Panels need to be moved without getting damaged. Parts need to be controlled instead of wrestled.

And sometimes the smartest tool in the building is the person standing next to you.

Then she gave our team a review we will remember. ❤️

She said everyone she dealt with helped make the experience easier, from the office to the people working on the vehicle.

Paint does not like dust. 🎨

That is why this photo has almost as much protection in it as repair work.

The panel in front is resting on a padded stand while the technician works its surface.

Behind him, the vehicle is wrapped in plastic and sealed with bright yellow masking tape.

That is not decoration.

It helps keep sanding dust and repair residue away from the areas that are not being worked on.

Protect what is staying untouched.

Prepare what is getting refinished.

Then move on to the next step.

The finished color gets noticed later.

Apparently, some meetings do not need chairs. 😄

This one is happening in black and white beside a rack full of parts, with a white vehicle sitting only a few feet behind them.

One person is in a Johnson Auto Body shirt.

Whatever brought them together, the useful part is that the conversation is happening right where the work is.

The headlamp is there for a reason. 🔦

Once the exterior pieces come off, technicians can end up working in areas that were never meant to see much daylight.

In this photo, the rear of the vehicle is opened up enough to expose wiring, bare metal, mounting points, and the spaces behind the exterior panels.

That light on the technician’s forehead puts light exactly where he is looking while leaving both hands free for the work.

This is also why a vehicle can look more taken apart halfway through a collision repair than it did when it arrived.

Sometimes getting behind the damaged area is how you learn what the impact actually reached.

The outside tells part of the story.
