🎓 Congratulations to the Seniors of the Class of 2026! 🎓

Most of these students have been with me since I first started teaching, so today was definitely a bittersweet day as they finished their last official day of school and get ready to start the next chapter of their lives.

I just want to thank all of you for the laughs, the memories, the hard work, and yes… even the headaches along the way. Watching you all grow not only in your skills, but also in your confidence and character, has been one of the best parts of this job. You’ve all made a huge impact on this program, but more importantly on yourselves and the futures you’re building.

I’m proud of every single one of you and can’t wait to see where life takes you next. Keep working hard, stay motivated, and never forget where you started.

We’d like to give a huge THANK YOU to O’Reilly Auto Parts in Kirksville for their generous donation of automotive paint to the Kirksville Area Technical Center Auto Collision Program!

Because of your support, our students will gain even more hands-on experience and continue building the skills they need for successful careers in the auto collision industry. Opportunities like this make a lasting impact in the classroom and beyond.

The Class of 2026 has put the finishing touches on a fantastic 2013 Corvette hood as their Senior Hood memoir. Every Senior wrote a quote on the hood, and we also took photos over the years that they have been in the program and created a QR code for students to look back and remember their time in the program. As these students prepare to shift gears into the world, this project demonstrates their progress and dedication throughout their years in the program. Most of these students have been with me since they were freshmen in the 1-hour Intro class, and it's incredible to see how much they've grown and progressed. As some of my first students when I took over as the instructor for the program, I am honored to have been a part of their journey!

🚗🔧 Another Project Rolling Out of the KATC Auto Collision Shop!

This truck came into the shop looking for a little makeover. The customer asked us to prepare it for a wrap job and paint the interior… and our students were ready for the challenge.

After plenty of sanding, prepping, cleaning, and probably a few “Who left the sandpaper here?” moments, the truck officially headed home and ready for its wrap.

In the auto collision world, everyone sees the shiny finished product at the end… but the real magic happens in the prep work.

Great job to the students for putting in the work and proving once again that prep work might not be glamorous, but it makes everything look good!

The KATC Auto Collision Senior Graduating Class of 2026 is currently seeking a deck lid (preferably fiberglass) to repair, refinish, and proudly display as a lasting piece in remembrance of their time in the program.

This project will not only showcase the skills our seniors have gained, but will also serve as a meaningful reminder of their hard work and dedication for years to come.

If you are able to donate or know where we may be able to locate one, please reach out. Your support helps us provide valuable opportunities for our students and leaves a lasting impact on their educational journey.

Today marked the beginning of our program seniors' final days—and they kicked it off in true style!
The Morning Block requested a fish fry for their Senior Cookout, so by 8:00 AM, we had the fryer going and enjoyed some amazing food together.

We also had the privilege of seeing a long-term project finally roll in: Kolton Sampson’s fully restored 1971 John Deere 4520. He’s spent the last three years bringing it back to life, doing most of the paint work right here in the program.

We’ll let the photos speak for themselves—what a day to remember!
