If your car has ever taken longer than expected at a repair shop, there's a good chance parts were the reason.

It's actually one of the most common causes of delays in auto repair. Parts get back-ordered, they ship from different states or even overseas, and sometimes they show up damaged and need to be reordered. It's just the reality of how the supply chain works, and it's something every shop deals with at some point.

We had that happen to us recently. A part came in damaged (see picture), which pushed back the turnaround on a vehicle. We got the replacement ordered and had things moving again as soon as possible.

One thing we pride ourselves on: if something affects your car, you'll hear from us. We believe keeping our customers informed every step of the way is just part of the job, and it's something we take seriously.

Something we see a lot in this industry is shops recommending everything all at once. That's not how we work.

We had a customer come in with collapsed brake hoses on the front calipers. The calipers looked fine at the time, so we only recommended what was actually needed, the hoses.

After we replaced them, we went back and rechecked everything. That's when we noticed the passenger side caliper wasn't moving as smoothly as it should. We called the customer, told them what we found, and they decided to go ahead and replace it.

Simple as that. We're not going to sell you something your car doesn't need, but we're also going to be straight with you when something comes up. Sometimes things only show themselves once the repair is underway, and you deserve to know about it.
