Good morning Killeen-Dallas, Tx.
Busy as usual, up early as usual.
I've been up.
2015 Ford F-250 6.7L Powerstroke.
Cold side intercooler pipe replacement.
This past Saturday, we were in Ft Worth, picking up a customers 2019 Ram 1500 5.7L, it has a blown motor.
Before going to Ft Worth, we had to make 2 pit stops at my wife's job, she was needed.
1 week ago I was talking to my cousin Miguel, he lives in California, he reached out to me because he had a loss of boost in his Superduty.
I said check the intercooler piping.
He did, cold side was blown, (plastic) so he replaced it, all was good.
I had that on my mind ever since, wondering when my oem one was going to blow π.
Driving to Ft Worth i was thinking about it, stepping on it and checking my boost gauge and making sure it was going up properly.
I told my wife, hey we aren't going to parents this weekend, I just want to pick up the truck and go back to Killeen.
She said ok.
The truck said what? No way Jose.
I was on I35 about to cross I20 and I heard a pop and big blow of air, I told my wife the intercooler pipe busted.
I was 15 minutes away from the truck I was picking up.
The truck was driving ok but I knew I couldn't step on it.
I pulled over and checked it and sure enough the pipe had blew.
My wife said, go pick up the truck, and then we will go to your parents house, I couldn't do that, I don't think the truck would've liked that extra weight on it.
I called the O'Reilly next to my parents house, they had the pipe in stock and my dad was home, I needed his tools.
I was 30 minutes from him, so I babied it back to Grand Prairie, Tx.
We got there and I removed and installed it within 10 minutes.
It was a nice upgrade over oem.
I don't like Dorman at all but it looks decent.
Hopefully it last us a while.
We were back on the road.
It set us back some but we made it back to the shop safe that night.
Gracias a mi papa y a mi mama (Elvia), los quiero mucho πͺ.
Thanks to my wife too, she helped me load the truck and strap it down.
Complete.
