When Jewels was brought to us, one look into her eyes and you could see she wanted our help.
And our love.
As Dr. Washington, our chief veterinarian said, “We talk all the time about trying to hear the message the animals are giving us. Jewels was asking for help.”
And we gave it to her …
In the end though, it wasn’t enough.
The prolapse she suffered while giving birth in the wild had gone untreated for too long. By the time she came to us, all we could do was try … and make sure she felt love while she was here.
Our team fought hard for Jewels … as they do for dozens of animals every day.
That’s why we ask for help. Because we are their voice.
