Our Story

A Northern Michigan entertainment hotspot, NMD is an 1/8 mile drag racing facility located 3 miles north of Kaleva in Northwest Manistee County. NMD features E.T. Bracket Racing format with specialty events such as the annual Bonfire Salute in May, Bowtie Challenge in June, Mopars Against the World in July, Blue Oval Battle in August, and Mulligan Race Weekend in September.

NMD’s 2019 schedule marks the 50th season of operation. Attendance and racer participation is at an all-time high, with the 2018 Mopars Against the World event setting the record at 3,350 people attended in one day/evening event. Over 400 race entries were in competition.
