North Texas High Performance is looking for an experienced Performance Technician to join our team in Justin, Texas.
Tired of getting shafted on warranty time? Or Hours cut just to make a deal? That won't happen here.
Be part of our tight knit team, not just a number.

This is NOT a general repair shop.
No basic oil changes. No commuter car line work. No hack jobs. Fun stuff, projects, high dollar builds.

We build high-end performance vehicles, engine packages, swaps, suspension setups, fuel systems, driveline combinations, forced induction builds, cam packages, wheels/tires, brakes, dyno prep, and more.

If you take pride in your work, pay attention to details others miss, and actually care about doing things correctly the first time, we want to talk to you.

If you cut corners, constantly make excuses, need babysitting, or think “good enough” is acceptable, this is not the shop for you.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum 3 years experience in a dealership or performance shop
• Own tools required
• Strong diagnostic and mechanical ability and fast learner
• Must be organized, dependable, and self-motivated
• Ability to work on late-model GM, Ford, and Dodge performance platforms
• Fabrication/wiring/tuning knowledge is a plus
• Quality and craftsmanship matter more than rushing jobs out the door

We’ve had a big influx of builds lately (TX2K season always does that 😅), so we wanted to take a second to explain how things work behind the scenes:

Every car in our shop is part of a carefully managed schedule that includes:

Parts ordering & delivery timing

Custom fabrication

Multiple builds at different stages

Balancing quick-turn jobs with long-term builds

So while you may see cars coming and going quickly, others may take longer depending on what’s involved.

⚠️ A quick heads up:

Unscheduled walk-ins, calls, and constant check-ins actually slow your build down.

When a tech has to stop mid-job:

Tools get put down

Work gets interrupted

Time gets lost (and it adds up fast)

We send updates at real milestones, often with photos.

Due to recent (2026) uptick in online fraud, SMG has implemented a few new policies:
Fraud Prevention & Signature Requirements

Due to the increasing number of fraudulent transactions and chargebacks, all orders shipping to California will require an ID-verified adult signature upon delivery. This requirement cannot be waived.

Additionally, any order where the billing address and shipping address do not match may be flagged for fraud review. Orders flagged by our fraud prevention system may require additional verification before they are released for shipment. This may include confirmation of billing details, identity verification, or other reasonable steps to ensure the transaction is legitimate.

If verification cannot be completed, SMG Speed Shop reserves the right to cancel and refund the order at our discretion in order to protect both the customer and our business from fraudulent activity.
