🏁 SAFETY SATURDAY 🏍️💨 | LET’S TALK SAFETY WIRE.

We see a lot of questions about our safety wire application, so let’s break it down SIMPLE. 👇

1️⃣ WHAT IS SAFETY WIRE?
Safety wire has been used in aerospace and motorsports for decades to help prevent critical fasteners from loosening due to vibration.

2️⃣ WHY DO WE USE IT?
Your rear axle deals with vibration, road impacts, hard acceleration, and the demands of putting horsepower to the ground. Our safety wire application adds a mechanical safeguard to help prevent axle hardware from rotating loose.

3️⃣ HOW DOES IT WORK?
It’s all about DIRECTION. 🧠

When installed correctly, safety wire is routed and tensioned so that any tendency for the fastener to rotate loose puts tension on the wire in the tightening direction.

ONE SIDE PULLS ONE WAY. THE OTHER SIDE PULLS THE OPPOSITE WAY. That’s the principle behind properly installed safety wire.

4️⃣ WHY DOES IT MATTER?
Let’s be honest: when was the last time you checked your axle torque?

Between miles, vibration, hard riding, potholes, and the occasional hooligan behavior 😈, maintenance can get overlooked.

Safety wire provides an additional layer of protection against fastener rotation. It does NOT replace proper torque specifications, inspections, or routine maintenance.

DYNA OWNERS 🔥🔥🔥 WE’VE GOT YOU.

Early model or late model, we have options to get your setup right. But there’s one important detail to keep in mind when ordering: rear passenger peg placement.

On many early-model Dynas, the passenger pegs mount to the frame, while later models have the mounting points on the swingarm. That difference matters when selecting the correct swingarm for your build.

Here’s where it gets interesting: If you have an early-model Dyna but want your rear pegs mounted to the swingarm, we can make it happen. We can set you up with our late-model swingarm and make the necessary adjustments to the bushings and axle to accommodate the early-model setup.

The goal is simple: get you the right parts for your bike and the setup you want. No guesswork, no unnecessary headaches.
