HEAT WAVE - not going anywhere.
These next couple of weeks are going to be rough guys.
It just gets this way around here sometimes, especially in August. Very hot, dry and little variety.
Before I elaborate, a few things.
1. Yes, it is summer. No need to comment to remind us, we’re all adults.
2. No, this is not unusual.
3. No, I’m not trying to scare anyone. If you are scared of heat, you are in the wrong state.
While August is known to be a hot and fairly dry month. Not all patterns are made equal.
Last August, we observed legitimate fall weather in the middle of the month due to an unusual strong cold front.
Back in August 2023, we observed widespread storms, some of which were severe. This also provided beneficial rainfall.
Unfortunately, the recent pattern has not been friendly to us.
This will really reinforce what I would consider to be a nasty heat wave.
Some of our state is very dry and it’s not going to get any better anytime soon.
Sure, there will likely be some isolated chances here and there for rain.
However, anything of widespread significance seems unlikely in the 7-10 day window ahead.
It will be over before we know it, but that doesn’t mean it will be very much fun while it’s happening.
It also means my daily forecast information is going to remain VERY boring! 😂
