I was driving down Highland and ended up pulling into the Hobby Lobby lot to get a picture of this. I believe it's called a sundog. Tiny ice crystals high in the atmosphere act like prisms, bending and splitting sunlight into different colors, creating a rainbow-like effect. Pretty neat to see!

Update: The crooked lines on CR 730 have been painted over. I assume they plan to repaint them if they have not done so already.

My original post got a lot more attention than I expected, and I appreciate the humor it brought. But it also shows you the power of speaking up. So many people brought attention to the issue, and apparently action was taken.

Did you all see that they were working on the lights at the intersection of Highland and Red Wolf today?

Has anyone noticed improvements?

Emergency services are still clearing the scene of a serious accident at the intersection of US 49 and Brookland School Road.

Avoid the area until fully cleared.

We're taking a little public survey on the freshly painted lines along County Road 730 in Craighead County. Between the wavy centerlines and the yellow paint that somehow ended up dumped in the grass, we're not entirely sure what happened here, but the finished product certainly raises a few questions.

We'd love to hear your thoughts, and thanks to our submitter for sending these photos in!

I have several questions.

Really hoping the GPS didn’t say “turn right now.”
