There is a lot to love about the South Course at VIR. Besides being the most spectator friendly track in the Southeast, it's fast, it's technical, and it has a wide variety of types of turns. On camber, off camber, increasing and decreasing radius, blind, and super fast kink are just some of what it offers. Due to its complexity, many riders find it challenging to master, which is why PRE is offering a very unique opportunity. On Friday, July 17, PRE will host a complimentary school at VIR South for those who purchase the track day. This program includes six classroom sessions that address every nuance of the track, and every turn will be covered in detail. We'll also provide detailed handouts and onboard videos to enhance your understanding of what's being taught. Additionally, there will be six on-track coaching sessions to apply the classroom lessons practically, and all riders will benefit from a total of eight track sessions, allowing them to refine their skills in the afternoon. The day will conclude with a track walk, offering a chance to solidify reference points and address any lingering questions from participants. Rule of thumb. On three day events the middle day is always going to be more popular, especially if it's a Saturday, so it will sell out sooner than the first or third day. With that said we still have some space for Novice riders all three days, Intermediate riders on Friday and Sunday, and Advanced riders Friday only. The weather looks to be warm, but the track will be dry. What are you doing this weekend? It probably won't be as much fun as riding at VIR. Giddy up and go!

Everyone knows how important good safety gear is, but is good gear always safe? Here is something to consider. A helmet with a flip down visor seems like a great idea, right? I mean you never have to change from a clear to tinted visor because you have the ability to do it practically on the fly. But what happens if you crash while that visor is down? Maybe nothing, or maybe something really serious. A case in point. A few years ago a rider at one of our days and had a relatively minor crash while wearing one of these helmets. He was perfectly fine except for the forty stitches it took to sew up his eye. He was very fortunate not to have lost his eye as a result of this visor. It's also something to consider if you wear glasses or sunglasses under your helmet. Your helmet needs to fit properly, but even a helmet that fits correctly can move around on your head in a crash, and anything that is under your helmet can potentially cause an injury to your eyes. Food for thought from PRE.

Don't forget the PRE Track Days Annual Airfence Fundraiser at VIR on June 22 at 6:30 PM.

PRE will be there riding Fri-Sun and the Fundraiser dinner and auctions are on Saturday evening. You don't have to ride at the track days to attend. Everyone is welcome. We have a Kawasaki ZX6R that we are raffling, and many auction items both motorcycle related, and non motorcycle related. We have some nice bourbons, a watch, tire warmers, race suits, boots, helmet, fuel jugs, and so much more that there is no way we could list it all.

Cory and Kevin will once again be providing their awesome BBQ for dinner. We are seeking side dishes so if you can help with that it would be greatly appreciated. The suggested donation for dinner is $25.

There is no better way to spend a weekend than riding your bike at VIR and helping to support the important mission of making riders safer. Come and join PRE for a great time and a lot of fun!

2024 Airfence Fundraiser Raffle Bike

Tickets are $30 each, or four for $100. 2014 ZX6RR with full suspension.

We're hoping to raise a lot of money this year for our Airfence Fundraiser so buy some tickets. Even if you don't want the bike you could resell it, or better yet, donate it back to us and we'll auction it off at the fundraiser on June 22.
