Description Position Summary
To service customers by phone or in person through sales of heavy duty parts in accordance with details presented by customer and the availability of such parts and service needed by customer
Duties/responsibilities:
1. Greet customer and Identify/determine service and/or parts needed as requested by phone or in person. Suggest sale of related parts for full service.
2. Prepare work order for services needed by customer.
3. Determine sales price for customers for each sale in accordance with company procedure.
4. Process warranty or returns of parts (either if because of defects or errors for customers in accordance with company procedure.
5. Place special rush orders when necessary and appropriate.
6. Maintain confidentiality of price lists and structures as required by company procedure.
7. Be willing and able to answer customers’ questions about products, prices, availability, and product features.
8. Prepare invoices from completed work orders, collect payment on such invoices either as cash, credit card, approved check methods, and/or online payment.
9. Utilize non-selling, non-servicing time to take stock or reorder low items and organize counter and waiting area. Ensure that counter parts area is clean and in order. Ensure that display areas encourage sales.
Requirements Physical Demands
The job will require long periods of standing and/or only the use of sales counter stool. Majority of lifting and carrying will involve parts between 5 and 60 lbs. Handling of normal stock will include lifting or carrying parts in excess of 60 lbs. up to 15% of the time. May be requested to drive company car to pick up parts from dealership.
Qualifications and Software
Education
MOST BE BILINGUAL: FLUENT IN ENGLISH AND SPANISH
High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate)
Keyboarding/data entry skill of at least 50 wpm.
Intermediate to advanced knowledge level of Windows XP (excel, word and outlook)
Basic accounting knowledge helpful.
Quickbooks knowledge; however, training will be provided.
Professional Experience
- Minimum of 2 years experience in sales; sales of heavy-duty automotive parts preferred.
