Sometimes our sales team shares photos that make us say, "What?!" This is one of those.

Proper lubrication of a fifth wheel is essential for safety, performance, and the lifetime of the equipment. In cases like the photo below, the rust from a lack of lubricant on the back of the wedge can cause issues with opening and closing the locking mechanism.

In less than 15 minutes, fifth wheel expert Steve Wyatt explains the suggested preventative maintenance routine to extend the life of a Fontaine fifth wheel, including proper lubrication techniques.

Fontaine Fifth Wheel is pleased to announce the addition of Chad Rucks, MBA as National Account Service Manager.

Chad brings more than 20 years of experience in fleet maintenance, asset reliability, and service operations to the Fontaine team. He has led large-scale initiatives for organizations, such as Amazon, Mitsubishi Motors North America, Bendix, and U.S. Xpress, consistently improving fleet uptime, reducing total cost of ownership, and strengthening operational performance through data-driven strategies and cross-functional collaboration.

In his new role, Chad will support Fontaine’s national account customers by enhancing service strategies, strengthening key relationships, and delivering customer-focused solutions that help fleets maximize performance and reliability.
