Two Classics, Two Stories — '73 Super Beetle & ’74 Ghia

Busy day in the shop — two vintage VWs decided they needed some attention.

First up: a Super Beetle with a generator that finally threw in the towel.
Pulled the old unit, cleaned up the stand, checked the belt alignment, and dropped in a fresh generator. Nothing like seeing that charge light go out and knowing the Super Beetle is ready for the road again.

Then the ’74 Karmann Ghia rolled in with classic starting issues.

The bus is getting a rear shock and CV Axle, because 50-year-old parts don’t owe anybody anything.

The Thing’s body is going to be reunited with the chassis-one of those milestones that makes you feel great.

Super Beetle’s getting brake work sorted out so it’s ready for actual road time instead of “shop shuffle” duty.

One Leaves, One Gets Love

The ‘69 Ghia is officially heading home -running smooth, shining bright, and full of attitude. Always a good day when a VW gets to go back to its owner.

Meanwhile in bay 2 the ‘63 Single Cab is getting a set of taillights installed.

Air-cooled life is all about progress-big jobs, small jobs, and everything in between. Both of these classics are one step closer to more miles and more memories.
