This past Sunday August 23rd was the 3rd race of the year for us. This time we made the trek up to Road America in Elkhart lake for Michael's first race on the big track. At 4 miles long it is almost twice the size of any of the tracks he has run so far. Racing this weekend was with the Chicago Region SCCA at the Kettle Moraine Double Regional event. Weather was great with cooler temperatures and a dry track. Michael spent practice learning the track and figuring out the proper braking and turn in points. The race went great and as it went on the lap times came down with a best lap of 2:42.550 he finished 6th in his run group and set the 4th fastest lap time. This past Sunday July 19th was our first outing since the suspension failure in April at Blackhawk Farms Raceway. We traveled to Gingerman Raceway in South Haven Michigan this last weekend. This is another great track to visit being a 2.14 mile 11 corner track it has a little bit of everything. It was a hot weekend but loads of fun. Michael had a good run finishing 5th overall in his group with plenty of action during the race. Check out the video of the last two laps of his race. Also take a look at the photo gallery for other cars from the weekend. This was the first joint race with the SCCA and Midwestern Council of Sports Car Clubs. Lot's of people and fun.

This last weekend was the first race weekend of the season at the newly repaved Blackhawk Farms Raceway in South Beloit, IL. This would be what we consider to be our home track being so close and it just keeps getting better. We had perfect racing weather with plenty of sun and mild temps in the 60's. The race started out great with Michael running several laps at almost a full second faster than his fast lap from last year. Unfortunately the car suffered a mechanical failure in the suspension shortly after the video clip and he was not able to finish the race. We would both like to thank the track workers and safety team for a quick recovery of the car and their help getting it back in the pits. Check out the photo album from the race. I apologize there aren't many pictures, we got kinda busy trying to get the car to at least roll to get it loaded on the trailer.
