We picked up our Brand New 2026 Featherlite trailer June 6th. We purchased it site unseen, and when we arrive for pick up one of the things that I was concerned with was the step up into the trailer.  We started out almost 30 years ago, hauling our personal horses in a step up trailer, so I was use to loading them without a ramp. 

Since we have rolled the dolly legs up on it . All but 2 out of 97 Horses, Donkeys have walked right in ( the other 2 just needed some additional help ). Knowing that they all Will load without a ramp was a big relief.

Proof positive in the Math .

That being said the first thing is Safety. (Always has and Always will be )
The safety of the animals and myself. The most dangerous part of hauling live animals is the loading and unloading .

With that in mind the decision was made to install a ramp . This will insure that in the Winter months horses aren’t stepping down into Ice and Snow . Or unloading with front shoes on Blacktop in the summer. Risking the possibility of sliding when they exit the trailer.

I want to give a Big Shout Out to Custom Cabs and Trailers in Jamestown Ohio . For years they have provided us with quality work and excellent service .They Hit a Home Run again !
