Every now and then, someone reminds you that the old ways still matter.

After over 60 years in business, we’ve held onto some of these old traditions at Excel Body Works. The automotive industry is fast paced and constantly changing, always moving to the next thing… but it’s moments like this that keep us grounded.

A customer recently took the time to write us a handwritten thank you card and hand deliver it in person. In today’s digital world, that’s just not something you see much anymore.

While this industry moves fast, it’s things like this that keep us kicking it old school. The time, the effort, the intention behind a simple card… it means more than words can say.

To our customers Mark & Nikki, thank you. You reminded us why those personal touches still matter, and why we’ll always hold onto them.

Today we’re saying “see you later” to one of our own, Julieanne, better known around here as Julz 💙

Julz came to us in June of 2025 and quickly became a key part of our paint department. With a background in Automotive Collision, she brought her knowledge with her and put it to work from day one. From prepping, sanding, and masking to priming and laying down color, she took pride in every step of the process. She handled her work with care and attention to detail.

She didn’t just know the job, she continued to grow in it. Mixing her own paint, pushing herself to improve, and always showing up ready to work. More importantly, she showed up with a positive attitude and a willingness to help wherever needed.

One of the things that stands out most about Julz is her heart. When we partnered with a local non-profit to restore their metal pinwheel, she was part of the team that made it happen, putting in the time and effort to get the color match just right and bring it back to life for the community.

Due to ordering fish plates for today’s fundraiser, we celebrated her yesterday with a shop lunch of her choice from Mi Cabana and Shelbi topped it off with some homemade brownies 🍫

We are so happy she landed here with us, but definitely sad to see her go. Truly a joy to have in the shop. She made an impact here and will absolutely be missed.

We wish her and her husband all the best as he transitions from active duty and they return back home to start their next chapter together.
