Nobody wants to think about a body shop on a Sunday. 🚗

So here is the short version, and then we will let you get back to your afternoon. If something happens this week, take photos before anything moves. Get the other driver's insurance info, not just their phone number. And know that the shop your insurance suggests is a suggestion, not a requirement. You pick where your car gets repaired.

Saturday errands are undefeated against rear bumpers. 🛒

Grocery store lots are tight, everyone is backing out at once, and the cart return is always exactly where you want to park. Most of what comes through our doors on a Monday started as a two second Saturday afternoon.

Back in when you can. Give the cart corral a wide berth. And if something does happen, it is usually far more fixable than it looks in the parking lot.

Around here, we know heat. That familiarity is the risk.

A parked car gets dangerous faster than most people expect. Roughly 20 degrees hotter inside within the first 10 minutes, and it keeps rising well past what anyone would guess from standing next to it. Rolling the window down an inch does almost nothing.

Children are especially vulnerable, because a small body heats up several times faster than an adult's.

Never leave a child alone in a vehicle, no matter how quick the stop is meant to be. And make checking the back seat part of parking, the same way you check for your phone and keys.
