HOMETOWN CIGAR FACTORY PROMISING $70K JOBS FOR LOCAL RESIDENTS
Jacksonville-based to***co company Swisher Sweets has committed to reserve 60 jobs for people living within two miles of its factory on East 16th Street (zip 32206). The jobs will have an average salary of $70,000. Swisher is planning a $135 million expansion of its historic Eastside campus, which is expected to create over 200 jobs over the next couple of years. The economic infusion is a result of a partnerships with LIFTJAX. Under the agreement, Swisher, LIFT JAX and other Eastside partners will recruit locally, host career fairs and information sessions, track hiring data by ZIP code or neighborhood and develop pathways for workforce advancement.
