With temperatures expected to reach or exceed 100 degrees throughout the week, now is the time to make sure your tires are ready for the heat.

Underinflated, worn or damaged tires can build up dangerous levels of heat while you drive, increasing the risk of tire failure. Before you hit the highway, get your tire pressure checked and have your tires inspected for cracks, bulges and worn tread.

For the most accurate reading, tire pressure should be checked when the tires are cold.
