Matte paint is stunning — but it comes with zero margin for error. 🖤

Here’s what most people don’t know before they buy a matte vehicle:

❌ You cannot polish matte paint — the finish will turn glossy permanently
❌ Scratches and swirls have NO correction option
❌ Rock chips on matte look 10x worse because there’s no way to blend them out

So what’s the move? PPF before anything else.

This customer made the right call and wrapped their matte finish in XPEL PPF straight away. Now it’s protected from chips, scratches, and the elements — and that matte look stays perfect without the risk.

If you drive a matte vehicle and don’t have PPF on it, it’s only a matter of time. One chip on the highway and you’re looking at a full panel respray.

Here’s the real talk though — when you maintain it regularly, the wash is easy. Light dirt, quick rinse, done in minutes. But skip a few months? Built-up contamination, water spots, and grease means we’re spending 2-3x longer getting it back to where it should be.

Red Tesla Model Y came in looking clean — almost. Had a pre-existing rock chip that PPF can protect going forward but can’t turn back time on. We laid down XPEL PPF on the front end and topped the whole car with ceramic coating so from here on out, this paint is locked in. The chip stays, everything else doesn’t.

Three mistakes that’ll cost you time, money, and a headache ☀️🚫

Detailing in direct sunlight? Here’s what NOT to do:

❌ Never spray your windshield up close with a pressure washer — the thermal shock can crack it
❌ Green Star in direct sun = streaking nightmare. You’ll need polish just to fix it
❌ Don’t foam the whole car then work on rims — that soap dries fast and can stain your paint

Work smarter, not harder. The sun doesn’t care about your detail. 😤
