Good morning and happy Friday. I absolutely loved my devotion this morning. I felt I just had to share this. You as we have all gone through this life of ours, we’ve all felt an urgency about something. Last night I chatted with a friend, she told me she was struggling with feeling alone and she said she heard me telling her to read the devotional I gave her every day: that devotion for that particular day was about never being alone that Jesus is right there next to you. He answered her needs immediately, he gave her hope just at the time she needed it. For me my urgency comes wanting and having peace within me. True and pure peace only comes from having Jesus living in us. Do you have peace? As we start our day, how do you start the day in hopes of having a day that’s full of blessings? For me: I start my day being thankful that I’ve been given another day, I make myself a cup of coffee, I sit in quiet and read my devotional. Here lately my heart has been heavy. Wondering and scratching my head about the hate and division that is going on within the most beautiful country. I wonder how heavy someone’s heart must be when carrying hate: not just for our country but for our fellow men and women? How could hate be so strong that you carry hate for another human being? You see for me my peace comes from having Jesus Christ living within me. His love for ALL of us is pure. I’ll ask people “do you believe in Jesus”? Most often I hear “yes”. Well, let me just say “the Devil also believes in Jesus”. Here’s the big difference: “we must ask Jesus to be our Lord and Savior”. We need to surrender unto him. And that is where peace within your heart will come from. Peace doesn’t come from how much money one may have in the bank account, or what neighborhood we live in, or how many parties we are invited to, or what kind of car we drive or even how often we go to church”(this one might surprise you that I said this) but there are those who think if they go to church every Sunday that they are better(going to church, hearing the word , learning the word and living the word) is where we’ll find and have peace. Peace is something we should all strive to have. Peace within can be seen and felt by others. Peace shines through us onto others. As I started my post this morning it was about my devotion. And then Jesus took ahold of my hand and started to write what he thought I needed to say. So today it came about peace that lives within. When we have that kind of peace our steps become lighter. Our compassion becomes bigger. Our hearts love deeper. Think about this: Jesus knows ALL of our names. Can you even imagine how big that love is? That love he has for each of us runs deeper than any sea. And he wants all of us to have that peace he’ll give us. When we receive that peace(because we asked him to come into us) we feel and live differently. We become softer, more forgiving, we have more compassion, more sympathetic and have more empathy for others. We offer a shoulder, we offer an ear, we love deeper and we talk so openly about the love of Jesus. Wherever peace lives, Jesus lives. Today I will send you my love, I will offer you my peace and I will never stop praying for peace among all. For life is good my friends, life is so beautiful when we walk in peace. Please be kind, be humble, be respectful, be gentle, be loving, be forgiving, be faithful, be prayerful and please as you walk through this day let the peace you have inside leave your lips with the love you have. Know you are valued. Be a blessing to someone who is searching for peace. Believe in your worth. Believe Jesus knows your name. And remember “I love you”.
