We are so excited that the West Yellowstone entrance will be opening this weekend! Yellowstone made it even better by allowing you to go for FREE on Saturday April 17th. You will definitely want to pack for cooler weather. Yellowstone is so beautiful in the spring!

Yellowstone’s interior roads begin their staggered opening on April 16! If you’re a fan of spring, you can experience all aspects of it in a single day in Yellowstone. At lower elevations grass in greening up, birds are singing, and you may even spot a newborn bison calf. As you gain elevation, heading into the interior of the park, spring has barely sprung. Snow blankets the ground in places and many hibernators continue to sleep in their dens. But the feel of spring is still in the air.

Plow crews have worked hard to clear the feet of snow from the roads, but winter driving conditions will periodically return with the snow squalls that sweep over Yellowstone this time of year. Don’t let a slick patch of road catch you by surprise!
