💙Phoenix Foundation — Emergency Support for SSG Justin Grooms💙

The Phoenix Foundation is launching an urgent fundraiser to support SSG Justin Groom, a veteran of the Kansas Army National Guard, and his wife during an extremely difficult period.

Last winter, Justin’s wife was diagnosed with a brain tumor and has been unable to work since. Then, in late July 2025, Justin suffered a heart attack, leaving him temporarily unable to return to work until he receives medical clearance. With their income suddenly gone, their utilities were shut off one by one, and eventually they lost their home. They are currently living out of their car while trying to stay afloat by doing DoorDash when health allows.

Our immediate goal:
To restore their utilities and, together with veteran-support groups, help secure stable housing for Justin and his wife until he is able to return to work.

Justin has served our state and our community. Now it’s our turn to serve him. Your support will help this couple regain stability, safety, and dignity as they work toward recovery.
