This is an original survivor car with the exception of a couple modifications. This means that it still retains its original factory paint, interior and chrome trim which are all mint “from the factory” original. It is an original 383 4 barrel Golden Commando car. Originally it was a pushbutton automatic but has been correctly changed over to the correct Borg Warner 4 speed transmission that only appeared in Chrysler products toward the latter half of the 1963 model year so whoever did the changeover knew Chrysler history pretty good.
This car has some interesting history. It was originally purchased by famed Nascar driver Charlie Glotchback. According to the information that was recorded in the October 2019 Mopar Action magazine, he soon sold the car to his father who kept it many years until it resurfaced again, it was after this time when the transmission was changed over. The conversion was done correctly meaning the shifter hump was installed in the floor, the 4 speed carpet was installed and the pushbutton delete dash bezel replaced the original pushbutton bezel. All the original parts were saved and goes with the car.
Mopar Action did a nice center fold 3 or 4 page spread on the car with all the prior history.
The cars odometer is only showing 45,700 miles and the cars pristine condition easily verifies the mileage to be correct. There is very little that can be picked on this car, all the Sport Fury side machined trim is immaculate, the paint is beautiful, the two tone copper and black bucket seat interior is immaculate, the trunk is beautiful, the chrome bumpers are gorgeous, all the factory engine bay paint runs are clearly visible under the hood alone with the original OK paint stamps. If you love 1963 survivor Sport Furys, then you need to look at this car, you do not find them this way very often. Absolutely stunning car.
