DK Motorsports wants to wish Kyle Jackson a speedy recovery! Bad accident last night that resulted in a neck fracture. He is home but will have a long recovery ahead. Many prayers your way!!

Statement from STRR Promoter

Last night was a bitter pill to try to swallow, watching one of my drivers take a violent wreck. All my drivers are important to me; this one is just closer to home.

Kyle had taken over the class points lead in the EMOD class after Friday night’s results and was excited going into Saturday. The scene of the wreck was something I have replayed in my mind 1,000 times.

In his time of need last night, my STRR officials stepped up. The EMS crew and many drivers and individuals jumped in within seconds. It was a very dangerous scene trying to get a driver out of the car upside down with a crushed roll cage down on him while fuel was pouring out everywhere, knowing there was a very good chance he was injured.

He has a fractured C7 vertebra in his neck, and in his back, T3-T5 have compression fractures. All of which are stable but will result in him wearing a neck brace for several weeks, with no surgery unless something changes.

What a night at I-37 Speedway

Cameron ran 3rd in his heat of 9 to place him p5 in the feature of 18.

Feature was interesting to say the least, lots of cautions. He was running 5th to 4th for a hot min, got jammed up between 2 cars. He was thrown In the back. Worked his way all the way back to 7th to finish! So proud of him for hanging on a pushing his way back up. You could tell he was super exhausted when he parked it in the pits.

We will be racing a double header this weekend at South Texas Race Ranch both Saturday and Sunday. Come out for some fun and a little dirt action.

What a night of racing at I-37 Speedway! 🏁

16 Emods checked in, and Cameron Schmidt started 6th — outside of row 3. A turn 1 scuffle opened the door for him to ride the high side and make his move. He ran 2nd behind Tripp for a lap before sliding around him to grab the win in Heat 2! 🎉🙌🏼

That set him up outside pole for the feature. Cameron ran strong in 2nd behind Preston ( #6) for a few laps, but in Turn 2 he got a little overzealous and spun on his own, sending him to the back of the field. From 16th, he dug in, battled back, and fought his way up to an 8th-place finish.

Watching your kid accomplish something he’s worked so hard for — nothing compares. We cheered, hugged, laughed, and celebrated every lap. Truly a night to remember!

Next race: this Saturday, 9/21, at South Texas Race Ranch. Come out and support these drivers doing what they love! 🏁

We’ve been battling some tough car issues the last few races, but hard work always pays off, our crew chief (aka Dad) and Cameron have spent countless hours in the shop — replacing the rear end, brake lines, shocks, and making key adjustments to get the car dialed in.

All that dedication, plus some damn good driving we finished the night with a 4th-place finish at Outlaw 34 Night 2 at South Texas Race Ranch! 🏁🔥
