This U-code GTX underwent an extensive restoration by American Classics Restoration, with a documented investment exceeding $100,000 in today’s dollars between the restoration and subsequent work.

NOW LIVE ON Bring a Trailer

1970 Maserati Ghibli 4.7 Spyder

One of just 125 Ghibli Spyders produced, chassis 1189 is powered by its documented matching numbers 4.7 liter quad cam V8 paired with a ZF five speed manual transmission.

The car is accompanied by extensive Maserati Classiche and factory documentation tracing it through production, testing and delivery, along with an original Maserati factory hardtop sourced during its restoration.

Its older restoration has been remarkably well preserved. In March 2026, more than three decades after the work was completed, the Ghibli earned an AACA National First Prize at the Winter Nationals.

The current owner purchased the car on Bring a Trailer in 2022 and has added just 74 indicated miles since.

Now live and open for bidding through October 6.

Originally headed to MOTORVAULT as a traditional consignment, an unexpected transmission failure set in motion a completely different path. Johnson-Melloh Residential donated the Regal to Indianapolis Cars and Coffee, and the sale is now being used to raise funds for Folds of Honor Indiana.

More than $26,000 in documented work has been completed since its previous BaT appearance, including an Extreme Automatics Stage II 200-4R transmission, Grand National-spec lockup converter, Vintage Air climate control, satin silver wrap, and extensive mechanical work.

MOTORVAULT is donating our time and waiving our seller commission, and the total sale amount, including the BaT buyer's fee, will be donated to Folds of Honor.

A great Turbo Buick with an even better reason to bid.

2006 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 finished in Velocity Yellow over Ebony with just 15k miles.

Powered by the 7.0L LS7 V8 and a 6 speed manual, this example is equipped with the 2LZ Preferred Equipment Group and polished aluminum wheels. It retains its original window sticker showing a $70,635 MSRP and is accompanied by two key fobs, owner’s manuals in their leather bound case, service records and a clean CARFAX Vehicle History Report.

Recent service included an oil and filter change along with a fresh set of Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires.

COMING SOON TO BRING A TRAILER

This one means a little more to us.

Our 1987 Buick Regal Turbo is officially headed to Bring a Trailer⁠, with the auction going live Friday.

Originally headed to MOTORVAULT as a traditional consignment, an unexpected transmission failure and a conversation on the ride back to our shop changed the direction of this car completely.

Johnson-Melloh Residential donated the Regal to Indianapolis Cars and Coffee® , with the proceeds from its sale helping support Folds of Honor Indiana.

The Buick has since received a new Extreme Automatics Stage II 200-4R transmission and is ready for its next chapter. MOTORVAULT is also donating our time and waiving our seller commission so more from the sale can go toward the cause.

It was great seeing the Regal on display with Indianapolis Cars & Coffee⁠. Now we’re excited to see what the Bring a Trailer community can do with it.

RACING FOR SUNSET

Cars have a way of becoming part of our lives.

They remind us of people. Places. Road trips. Sunday drives. Late nights in the garage. A certain sound, smell, or stretch of road that can bring back a memory you haven't thought about in years.

That's the idea behind Racing for Sunset.

It's an automotive lifestyle built around something bigger than the automobile itself — the people, stories, experiences, and emotions that bring us together.

And for our first story, we want to introduce you to Marianne.

Marianne recently lost her husband, Bob, after a lifetime they shared together — much of it with automobiles woven into their story.

Cadillacs, Corvettes, Thunderbirds and Jaguars came and went over the years. Bob even proposed to Marianne by hiding her engagement ring inside the glove box of a Jaguar.

One of his final projects was a red 1987 Mercedes-Benz 560SL.

Even as his health declined and he began using a wheelchair, Bob continued going outside to work on the Mercedes. He wanted to get it running for Marianne.

She promised him she would drive it.

Bob never had the opportunity to finish the car.

Today, Marianne calls it “his last love, his last project.”

And sometimes a car is worth far more than the sum of its parts.

We'd like our first act as Racing for Sunset to be helping Marianne.

A GoFundMe has been established with a goal of raising $5,000 to give her some breathing room as she navigates the next chapter of her life. We also hope, with Marianne's blessing, to eventually find the right caretaker for Bob's Mercedes — someone who understands the story behind it and wants to finish what he started.

Because Racing for Sunset isn't really about racing.

It's about recognizing that our time is limited and choosing to fill it with things that matter.

Cars. Roads. People. Stories.

And the memories we make somewhere along the way.

This is Marianne and Bob's story.

It's also where ours begins.

One of the most recognizable names in the Corvette restomod world, Jeff Hayes, put his signature on this 1964 Corvette Sting Ray, and today it finds its next home.

Completed approximately three years ago and showing just 307 miles, this build combines the unmistakable shape and character of a midyear Corvette with the engineering and road manners of a thoroughly modern performance car.

Underneath is an Art Morrison Sport Chassis with Strange Engineering adjustable coilovers, modern suspension geometry, power rack and pinion steering, and Wilwood disc brakes. Power comes from an LS3 Hot Cam V8 paired with a 4L70E four speed automatic with overdrive.

The stance is unmistakably Hayes, with staggered polished wheels, side pipes and a beautifully executed blue interior providing a striking contrast against the black exterior.
