🚨 CAPRICE OF SHIFT IS OFFICIALLY BACK OPEN 🚨

Against better judgment, sound financial advice, and probably the wishes of several GM engineers, Caprice of Shift is officially back in business.

And while damn near everything else on planet Earth continues to get more expensive, I’m not raising prices yet. I started doing this because I enjoy the Holden community, I like building stuff that solves problems, and yeah—I’d like to make a little money doing it. But I’m not trying to retire off paddle shifters. I’m not out here expecting y’all to pay my car note and mortgage. I have an actual job for that s**t. 😂

Remember, Caprice of Shift isn’t my full-time job. I have one of those already—the kind that actually pays the mortgage and occasionally expects me to show up. 😂 This operation happens during nights, weekends, and whatever scraps of free time adulthood accidentally leaves me.

Important Shipping Update & Apology

I want to apologize to everyone currently waiting on an order. Unfortunately, USPS is once again reusing/recycling tracking numbers, an issue I have encountered before.

When this happens, the tracking system can initially associate a new shipment with old tracking information. More importantly, I am also seeing these affected packages experience significant delays in actually moving through the postal system and arriving within their normal delivery timeframe.

Unfortunately, once a package has been accepted by USPS, these delays are completely beyond my control. I understand how frustrating it is to be waiting on an order—especially when the tracking information doesn’t make sense or appears to show little or no progress.

The good news is that I’ve dealt with this exact situation before, and the shipments have ultimately arrived at their destinations. In all of the previous instances I’ve encountered, I’ve only had one package eventually make its way back to me instead of the customer.

If that happens with any current shipment, I will immediately relabel the package with a new tracking number and get it back on its way to you. You will not be expected to pay additional shipping because of an issue with the postal system.

I sincerely apologize for the delays and confusion. I wish there were more I could do to speed up the process, but unfortunately I have no control over a package once it enters the USPS network.

Please rest assured that I am aware of the situation, your order has not been forgotten, and based on my previous experience with this issue, the packages should eventually arrive.

I’d like to take a moment to share a bit of transparency about how I price the products I build and sell, and to clearly explain what is included when you purchase directly from me versus when a product changes hands later on.

Each product is priced well beyond just the cost of parts. My pricing reflects raw materials and components, careful assembly, testing, packaging and shipping, as well as ongoing cloud storage that supports installation guides, documentation, updates, and other helpful resources.

When you purchase a product directly from my shop, that price also includes my full support. I’m here to help with installation questions, troubleshooting, access to documentation, and anything needed to ensure the product is working as intended. I also stand behind the quality and workmanship of everything I sell.

That said, support is naturally tied to the original purchase.

If a product is later purchased through a third party—such as a resale, marketplace listing, trade, or any situation where I was not the original seller—the new owner is still very welcome to reach out. However, installation help, troubleshooting, repairs, replacement parts, and other services may involve additional charges.

This isn’t about limiting support or discouraging second-hand purchases. It’s simply about keeping things fair and sustainable. The original purchase helps cover the time, resources, and ongoing support provided to that customer. When a product is resold independently, that original support agreement doesn’t carry over in the same way, even though continued assistance still requires time, expertise, and operating costs.

I genuinely enjoy helping people get the most out of my products, whether they’re brand new or have changed hands. I just ask for understanding that my time, knowledge, and technical support are part of what I offer—and they are part of what makes the product complete.

Buying directly from my shop means you’re not only getting the physical product, but also the full experience: documentation, updates, and dedicated support from me to help you succeed with it.

Offering up a new (old) design shift box for anyone interested. My former competitor made only a couple of these in 2017/2018, and I finally found the buttons they used to replicate the design.

This style uses paddle shifter buttons from a Mercedes Benz for a more aggressive “click” and feel when using it.

I might offer them in the future if we can design a 3D printed case cover, as cutting the holes for the buttons is a PITA.

I can add the appropriate guts to make it work for all year PPV’s.
