Quick PSA about the inlays I see on the door panels. It’s been a while since I’ve come across one, but I do have to remove them in order to take off the door panels. They get in the way of the upholstery piece that needs to be removed. Just a heads up. I’ve taken them off several times it’s not a big deal at all whatsoever for us. Though I do need some thinner 3M tape in case I can’t reuse what was already on there. Thanks for watching and hope your day has been a great one.

Day 26 on the road working on cars in a row. Only a third of the way through my 50th cross country roadtrip working on cars. Today is a ZLR hinge installation on a Torch Red Corvette C8 in Geneva, Illinois. Enjoy the day folks! Beautiful weather out here in Illinois after a day of rain yesterday. 284! 💪🏼 Thank you to all of our clients for your gracious hospitality! This job would be nothing if it wasn’t for all the people and experiences that come along with it! On this install I got to try some pork roll (AKA Taylor Ham), a delicacy in New Jersey. And then if you put some of that pork roll on a burger you got yourself a Jersey (Devil) Burger! 🍔

I was trying to do a map of all the cars we’ve worked on in the last 5 years and found that to be impossible because of how quickly the map fills up and then the pictures are so small you can’t tell what it is 😂 so then I thought, well I’ll do one state at a time. This is just over half of our Indiana vertical door installs 😳 We are closing in on 1,000 installs across the USA, Canada and Portugal. We come to you folks… We travel to you! Let us slap the miles on our own cars. No need to trailer your car to a shop. Install is complete in your garage (or driveway weather permitting) right in front of your eyes. 5 years of backing up a lifetime service warranty. We are the bar and we continue to raise it.

Day 25 working on cars in a row. Now out in Crest Hill, Illinois just north of Joliet. My brother Blake is in Pennsylvania working on cars. I still have a few more Corvettes here in Illinois before Indiana, Michigan and Kentucky. Check out the paint goof on the driver side door. The vertical doors revealed a slight miss in the paint job, so the dealership is going to take care of that. Out of the 600+ Corvettes I’ve worked on I can’t say I’ve seen it that bad. My clients dog stole my plastic upholstery tool and the cat tried to eat my grease. The video cuts out at the end because I trip chasing the dog 😂 I did get my tool back.

Number 605 is complete! Gilberto sir it was a pleasure getting to work on your torch red Corvette. Absolutely gorgeous car and very fitting with my Texas Tech Christian Anderson outfit. Ready for the NBA Draft tonight! Hot day in Decatur, Illinois. Next stop: Chicagoland for a few Corvettes to work on. Also, Mike Myers the offer is always open if you want vertical doors on the Shaguar for the 4th Austin Powers. I stand by the original offer to work for free or donate my pay to Toronto area charities. We have a Jaguar with vertical doors in the family if you ever want to check it out. All I ask is in the credits it says “Shaguar Mechanic No. 1” Mr. Bigglesworth gives his nod of approval 😂 take care y’all and drive safe! Go vertical, stay vertical!

PSA! Please triple check that you are ordering the correct kit for your car before you make the order!

There are 3 options for the C8:
1. The C8 Stingray vertical door (front wheel size must be 19),
2. The C8 Z06/ERay/ZR1 vertical door (front wheel size of 20+), and
3. The C8 ZLR kit (works for all C8 models regardless of front tire size).

The ZLR hinges are more of a butterfly style and the Vertical Door hinges are more of a scissor door style.
