1987, the beginning of Four Stroke Tech
Speaking of Hi-Point (below this post), as I had just left Powroll to open "Powroll East" this was my first major build when I move back east. It was a 1987 Kawasaki Tecate 250 with a Mojave 250 4 stroke engine to go up against the Honda Hy-Bird 250r's with the 250x engines. The Mojave was a faster engine back then but I need a better handling chassis. It wasn't better then a 250r FourTrax but still better then the short Mojave. I ended up not going with Powroll East and went out on my own with Four Stroke Tech.
I race this twice a Hi-Point MX, first time got 2nd in the first moto before it snowed out! LOL
The 2nd time was right after the motor home wreck that broke my foot. Had to cut my Hi-Point boots so I could fit my foot in the boot. The track is pretty much the same, got a good hole shot but coming out of the first turn started going down hill and someone hit me from behind and took me out big time. I finished that day but lost the points lead by 2 points.
Never had a good time there, one of the toughest tracks around still!
