I am proud to announce the reopening of the LIRR Huntington South Parking Lot on April 13 and the Town now has the authorization to move forward on additional commuter facility upgrades with $4 million in State and Municipal Facilities Program (SAM) Grant funding.

We are proud to deliver on this long-awaited renovation in the first few months of our administration but the best is yet to come. We anticipate moving forward on more commuter infrastructure upgrades at the Huntington train station with recently approved grant funding.

The South Parking Lot renovation project has added 29 new parking spots, bringing the lot to 253 spaces; a new accessible sidewalk on east side of Fairground Avenue; drainage improvements; lighting improvements; resurfacing with new asphalt paving; two-way traffic flow down each aisle; reconstruction of the southern retaining wall; and the installation of EV conduits for the potential installation of electric vehicle charging stations if funding becomes available to add such infrastructure in the future.
