Your car smells and a new cabin filter didn’t fix it? That’s because the smell isn’t in the filter. It’s living in the air box behind your dash.

Here’s what we do instead. We get into the air box and run the Liqui Moly AC cleaning system through it. It cleans the evaporator and the heater core and kills the germs and bacteria. Then the car sits outside with the heat on full blast for 20 minutes to dry everything out.

The step most shops skip: checking the AC drain. If it’s clogged, all that cleaner builds up inside and ends up on your floor. Wet floor in the summer? That’s a clogged AC drain, and we check it on every one.

Car Manufacturer calls it lifetime transmission fluid. ZF, the company that actually builds the transmission, says change it around 100,000 miles. I’d go with the people who made it.

I've never really had a wheel bearing that was this bad. Look inside the knuckle. All that corrosion built up and locked the bearing in there. The wire wheel comes next, to clean it all out before the new one goes in.

How long does a wheel bearing last? Hard to say. You can get 50,000 miles or 150,000. This one was mostly corrosion, and New England weather doesn't help.

Can you do this wheel bearing in your driveway? Up here, I don't think you'd be able to.

The corrosion is the problem. Without the torches, the presses and the knowledge, you'll end up cracking the knuckle. It's aluminum. And it's not something I'd try off a YouTube video.

Below the rust belt, in Georgia, you could maybe. Up here in New England it's brutal.
