Paint can last a long time—but only if what’s underneath it is solid.

When a vehicle has multiple layers of old paint, primer, filler, or unknown coatings, sometimes the best move is to strip it back and see what’s really there. Chemical paint stripper helps remove heavy coating buildup without creating excessive heat or grinding away good metal. Mechanical abrasion still has its place for cleaning the surface, feathering edges, and creating the proper profile for new materials to bond.

Hidden rust is one of the biggest challenges in classic-car restoration.

A car can look solid from the outside while corrosion is spreading behind panels, under seam sealer, inside the cowl or beneath old repairs. You usually do not know the full extent until the car is torn down.

That is why proper restoration goes beyond sanding and paint. The rust has to be exposed, removed and repaired correctly—or it will eventually come right back through the finished product.

What is underneath matters just as much as what everyone sees.

We loved the color scheme on the wheels for the F250. They set the tone, and we decided the rest of the truck needed to follow suit.

That black and red color scheme became the inspiration for the entire appearance package—from the badges and trim to every small detail we added. But nothing came straight out of a can. We custom matched and tweaked both colors until everything worked together and looked right against the wheels.

It’s the little details, patience and expertise that turn a project into a complete build.

Once complete, we’ll be able to handle mobile restoration work, mechanical repairs, electronics and lighting, paint and body work, and more—whether it’s at our shop or wherever the project needs us to be.

A lot of people think restoration is just paint.

The truth is, paint is only one part of what we do.

This ’69 Camaro is getting power seats retrofitted with custom-fabricated brackets, a complete wiring harness, upgraded audio, a Vintage Air A/C system, and a Holley ECU. Then comes the hard part—making all of those systems work together like they belonged there from the factory (and we have much more to go).

Building a car like this and taking it into the modern age takes fabrication, electrical knowledge, mechanical knowledge, problem-solving, and attention to every detail. That’s what separates a true restoration and custom shop from a body shop.

Every finished car is thousands of decisions, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.

UV Protection:

Many people think the shine is what protects your paint. It isn’t.

Older lacquer finishes had little to no built-in UV protection. Over time, sunlight breaks them down, leading to fading, chalking and cracking.

Modern urethane clear coats are designed with UV absorbers and stabilizers that dramatically slow that damage, helping your paint keep its color and gloss for years. Not all modern clears are built the same, so it’s important to use a clear that’s durable enough to resist the Florida sun.

Whether you’re preserving original paint or restoring a classic, using the right materials today means your work will still look great tomorrow.
